A golden and crispy halloumi enhanced by the sweetness of honey, a hint of lemon, and the fresh, spicy character of our Ginger olive oil. A simple and generous recipe, perfect for sharing as an appetizer or serving on a small plate, restaurant-style at home. You can also use this to accompany a composed salad or a salad.
Ingredients (serves 2-4 as an appetizer) :
1 block of halloumi (approximately 225g)
2 tablespoons of honey
1 pinch of chili flakes (or smoked paprika for a milder version)
A few drops of lemon juice
Olive oil
Ginger
2 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds or crushed pistachios
A few fresh mint leaves (optional)
Black pepper
Recipe :
- Cut the halloumi into thick slices or sticks, depending on your preferred presentation.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, without any oil. Add the halloumi and cook for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Reduce the heat slightly, then add the honey directly to the skillet along with a pinch of chili flakes. Cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute, gently turning the halloumi to coat it well and allow it to caramelize slightly.
- Arrange the warm halloumi on a serving platter. Add a few drops of lemon juice for freshness, then finish with a generous drizzle of ginger-infused olive oil.
- Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or crushed pistachios, add a grind of black pepper, and a few fresh mint leaves, if desired.
- Serve immediately with toasted bread or crackers to share.
Enjoy!
